FAQ's About the Experience...

How many Christmas lights are in the display?
The Grandinetti Christmas Lights feature more than 250,000 lights, with some seasons reaching roughly 270,000 individual lights throughout the property and surrounding trees.

Are all of the lights LED?
Yes. The display uses LED lighting, which makes it possible to create such a large-scale display while using significantly less energy than traditional incandescent Christmas lights.

Why do you put up such a large Christmas display every year?
The lights are meant to bring joy to the community, but the tradition has grown into something much bigger. The display provides an opportunity to bring people together while raising awareness and support for children and families facing cancer.

Why does the display support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital?
St. Jude's mission is especially meaningful to the Grandinetti family. St. Jude works to advance treatments and cures for childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases, while families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food.

How has social media impacted the display?
What began as a neighborhood tradition has reached audiences far beyond Cary through platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. Videos of the display have generated millions of views, comments, and shares, helping introduce even more people to both the lights and the mission behind them.

How can I help?
You don’t have to make a large contribution to make a difference. Visitors can donate, share the display with friends and family, engage with our social media, or simply help spread the word about our mission supporting St. Jude.

Do I have to donate to visit the lights?
No. The Grandinetti Christmas Lights are free for the community to enjoy. Donations are encouraged for those who would like to help support the mission behind the display.

Where can I follow updates about the lights?
Follow the Grandinetti Christmas Lights on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for display updates, behind-the-scenes content, seasonal announcements, and current hours of operation.
