A Christmas Tradition You Can See From Down the Street.
Every fall, the work begins. Hundreds of strands of Christmas lights climb into the trees above Council Gap Court, creating a canopy of color that has become one of Cary's most recognizable holiday displays.
With more that 250,000 lights, towering illuminated trees, Santa, reindeer, holiday characters, and Rick Grandinetti's signature "waterfall" of lights overhead, the display has welcomed families from all over the Triangle for years.

Why We Do It...
Christmas lights have always meant something more to the Grandinetti Family.
Growing up, Rick's family did not have much, but his father made Christmas feel extraordinary. Each year, he would add a little more to their display, sometimes only two additional sets of lights and turn what they had into something his children could look forward to.
His father also believed deeply in helping others and held a special admiration for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the mission started by Danny Thomas.
Today, Rick carries both traditions forward: creating joy, bringing people together and using that momentum to help children who need it most.
